I Do Not Like Hot Dogs!

Daddy and Alka and I watched a great movie over the weekend, called Control. Its a movie about Ian Curtis from a band called Joy Division. Daddy and I kept playing it over and over. I was dancing and yelling lines from the movie, but I think Alka was getting annoyed, cause Daddy wouldn't help her clean up while we watched the movie. My favorite line was "I do not like hot dogs!" I want to watch it again. The guy at the credits in the beginning scared me a lot though, but there's lots of good music.

This guy scared me and made me cry.

I do not like hot dogs!

Here's a video of Joy Division

The Good Clinton...

George, that is. Not a Hillary in sight. Or an Obama for that matter.
A couple weeks ago, Daddy's friend and our neighbor, Andre, invited us to a show he was playing. It was with George Clinton, from Parliament, an old, old school funk band- daddy says they've been sampled more than the ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Oh!

They played a whole lotta this kinda stuff!

Daddy said he used to play this and other funk and soul on his radio show called "Strictly Vinyl" that he did when he lived in LA, at a really cool station called KBLT.

Andre used to play with Parliament, one of the best bands of all time, and was sitting in on this show, and got us backstage passes! It was awesome. I never saw Daddy have so much fun. Me too. I even ran onstage and had a bunch of people clapping.

Daddy didn't bring the camera though, so all we got were some pictures from his cell phone. But its better than nothing. It was a great night. Thanks Andre!!

That's Andre's band. They sounded great!

That's me onstage with Andre

That's me just before I ran onstage with the rest of Parliament!

That's Daddy holding me, with the security guy in front who said I couldn't run onstage anymore. Party Pooper.

Me and Alka resting between songs. I was gettin' my drink on with my baboo.

Daddy also thought of a bunch of reasons why George is the good Clinton-
We raised the roof instead of raising taxes
They were pleasin', not appeasin'
We cut a rug, not cut and run
We took care of business instead of getting the business
Daddy said the music was so hot, he almost started to believe in "Global Warming" or whatever they're calling it this week
Oh Boy!!

The Other Wild One

I was out today, rollin' on my scooter and enjoying an almost perfect day. I checked out the kids skating, played a little soccer, and helped Daddy plant some more trees. When I took a break, Daddy took a picture of me on my ride. When I saw it, I thought I saw the picture before, so Daddy checked it out for me. He found this and said he knew I was a wild one!

That's me!

Like me, only I don't have a hat!

Civics class

Daddy was laughing at this video. He said it was a good lesson in civics for me. I'm sure I would agree, if I knew what civics was.

Daddy said if I really want to know civics, I should take this test. He got a 73.3%. I'd probably do better, if I had time to study.

Pepere's Tree

Today was the 133rd running of the Preakness. My Pepere (that's what I call my grandpa) used to go every year, and Daddy and my uncles used to go with him. My Pepere died before I was born, but Daddy was thinking about him today, and he told me a lot of stories about him.

Daddy wanted to dedicate something to Pepere, so he went to the garden store and got a Japanese Red Maple, which was Pepere's favorite tree. I helped Daddy plant it while Daddy told me more stories about him.

"Big Brown" won the Preakness today, so Daddy and I named the tree "Big Red" to mark the day.

I wish I got to meet my Pepere- he sounds like my kind of guy. I love him.

(A Really) Bad Hair Day

Daddy's in BIG trouble now! He cut my hair last time and left me lookin' like I had a gorilla bump on my head, you know, where they have that pointy protrusion at the top of their melon-

Boy is Alka mad at Daddy!

So Daddy said he's gonna fix it. He takes me on down to the haircut place, it was kinda neat- it had lacrosse games playing, and all the haircut girls were looking like referees, only they were cute. Turns out they're just as blind as real refs. So she made my haircut go from bad to really bad. Daddy says if she had another eye she'd be a cyclops!

I think she just left her glasses at home.

Daddy was trying to make the most of it and started laughing, he said I looked like Prince Valiant.

You can bet Daddy didn't laugh when we got home.

He said he won't even get to sleep on the couch. Its straight to the car for him. Oy!

At least Prince Valiant is kind of a hero!

Not like this guy!

Yup

That's how I roll...

reLAX

Daddy took me to another lacrosse game this weekend. It was right near home so we just walked there. It was Hopkins at Loyola this time, and Hopkins came back from behind to win in the fourth quarter. It was fun.

After the men's game the Loyola women played and that was even more fun. There was a picnic, and a ton of people hanging out and playing and eating and making music and there was a cool mascot and I was dancing and running and shooting goals and I even tried to help the girls by coaching a little bit at halftime, cause the Loyola girls weren't doing so hot -

I had so much fun I forgot to take a nap the whole day!

Huddle up girls!! We gotta lot of work to do!

Gimme a "L"!!

These pom poms are cozy, but I can't stop now

In between coaching and running on the field, I was hanging out with all the cheerleaders

Daddy had fun too!

Birthday Party!!

Wow. Alka and Daddy had a great party for me on my birthday- we went to Memere's (that's my grandma). My Ant Renee, my cousins and friends and Daddy and Alka's friends were all there. It was the best second birthday I ever had.

Daddy was cooking on the grill, and made a ton of balloons and Alka had a bunch of cool games for all the kids to play.

Daddy says he has to have all his high school friends together in a picture every 25 years, at least the one's that aren't in jail. There's Eli and Sylvia's mom Jenny, Darryl, Doug, Meyer, Kayla (Meyer's daughter), Brian, cousin Kristin and me! Whew, that's a lot of people.

That's me w/ Uncle Paul and Nathaniel (his birthday was two days before mine), and Buca, their dog

Here's some quick movies of us having cake-

That icing was yummy!

More frosting please

lot's of great gifts, thanks everyone!

having fun sure can be tiring.

Center Stage

Today at church I got tired of sitting still and decided to have some fun. When Alka wasn't looking, I took off down the aisle and ran all the way to the altar where the priest was.

Here's a picture of the aisle

Alka chased me all the way to the steps, and I didn't want to stop playing, so I went all the way up to the top, behind the priest while he was talking, and Alka had to follow me up. It was fun and I could tell because all the people in the church were laughing.

here's a closer picture of the altar
Then we went to my friend Nathaniel's birthday party, and one of Nate's dad's friend's said "Hey, that's the little boy I was telling you about that ran up the altar at church." Daddy said what a great thing to be famous for. Oh boy!

B-day, oh boy!!

Yes. Finally, today is my birthday. I've been waiting forever to turn two, and now today I get to leave being one in the dust. I'm officially a toddler. I think Daddy and Alka are having a party for me- I hope I get a lot of cool fighter jets.

Yay! I'm two!!!

On my way to daddy's work-then mommy and I are going to play!

Yay! Having fun w/ Alka after we dropped daddy off.

Buck Wild at the Blums

Here's the second post in our series from CA. Daddy and I went to the Blums to visit, where I lived up to my (almost) name: Buck Wild. Alka and Daddy were gonna name me Buck Wild cause they said I used to go buck wild when Alka was prego w/ me- they said I liked to do somersaults, 720s, helicopters and the standing high jump when I was in Alka's belly. I don't remember that, but I wanted to show the Blums my great arm when I was there, cause I don't get to see them that much.

That's me and Augie and Jonas

I shot the pasta from dinner clear across the room, pitched the train set into the neighbor's yard and dunked the basketball over daddy, a couple of times. It was fun. I even took Augie and Jonas' tricycle and burned tracks into the concrete, and did bunny hops on the razor scooter. Whew! What a day. Daddy said I tired him out. Whatever.

Daddy tried to stop me by fouling.

But I dunked on him anyway!

Thanks for the fun, Blums!!

We didn't get any pics of Dave and Melinda, Augie and Jonas' mom and dad, but when daddy was doing his radio show on KBLT, Dave used to sit in with him sometimes. Daddy calls him DJ Lurker, the King of Sh-- Rock! Here's a video Dave made around that time. Daddy helped Dave w/ the video and their friend Noah is the main guy in it. I think Daddy was a little weird back then. Good song though.

Plum Tuckered Out

OOOOheeeee! Just flew into California from Maryland, and boy am I tired! Its a lot of work keeping daddy on his toes. I had so much fun on the flight that the captain had to make an announcement over the intercom to tell daddy that I had to stay in my seat. Daddy thought it was great. I know, because he said, "oh, great Remi" after the announcement.

Alka, Doug, Darryl, Kevin & Sevan, oh, and Daddy too

Daddy and Doug are friends from high school. They haven't seen each other for a bunch of years since Daddy moved to CA. So we went to see him and his wife Darryl and their friends Kevin and Sevan.

It was fun. I played with the cat, picked my nose, fed grapes to Kevin and modeled mommy's shoes (not in that order).

Daddy was talking w/ Doug about his other friend from high school, Brian. Turns out that Brian is Kevin's boss. Daddy said its a small world. Looks big to me though.

Oh, and we're going to CA on Thursday. YAY!

Me after Daddy took the cat away. He said the cat didn't like it when I pulled its tail. But I don't think he minded.
